The Kincardine BESS is a 342MW critical energy asset located on a prime site northwest of the Kincardine Generating Station and Substation. The project has successfully secured full planning consent, positioning it as a construction-ready development essential to the regional and national grid. The site covers approximately 4.05 hectares (10 acres), this will include open areas and new landscape planting.

The project will be a major component of the 'Climate Fife' initiative, embodying a 'whole energy systems' approach. By integrating storage directly with transmission nodes, the facility minimizes distribution and transformation losses. Location & Grid Resilience
Situated between the A876 and Hawkhill Road, the site offers optimal connectivity to the Kincardine Substation. This proximity allows the BESS to act as a critical stabilizer, supporting the grid's ability to transform and move energy across networks while maintaining long-term system resilience.

Net Zero & Regulatory Alignment
In direct response to Fife Council’s 2019 Climate Emergency declaration, the Kincardine project serves as a vital enabler for the council’s 2045 Net Zero mandate.
